In the Navy in 1950 my “buddies” told me to drink it or skip the coffee break.Naive, I believed them but needed four teaspoons of sugar to make it drinkable.Several months ago read of cold-brew in…Continue

I don't even know what to celebrate on SPD, but I think he's a catholic saint..

Not a very good start to St. Patrick's Day around these parts. It's snowing! At least, Sunday Baroque is on the radio to boost my spirits. Coffee helped. Does anybody have a little (or a lot) of Irish DNA? I have a smidge. Anyway, have a good SPD.

Glad to see you back, Randy.

I've returned from Mexico Beach FL after 2 weeks getaway. Good to be back, despite the difference in weather. I missed my family, dog, and home.

I didn't miss television (no cable service yet in M.B.), nor internet. And, not having a smart phone, I only had radio to keep me company. I don't think I missed much in the outside world.

I woke up this morning with no headache--the first time in 2 weeks. Must be my pillow! I had bad diarrhea down there, also. I think the water was bad because I only ate my own food. No restaurants were open,

Now, back to my old routines. Hurry up, Spring!

Oh yes, I had the worse McDonald's coffee yesterday on my way home. Usually, it's pretty good.?

Slept late this morning which usually gives me a headache. Coffee cured it (the headache, not the sleeping late).

The week's over--a busy week (relatively speaking for me) of going to town to grocery (Aldi) and Walmart shop (yes, ugh). But Walmart has salt free pretzels, printer ink, loose leaf tea, duct tape, etc., items I can't find anywhere else close by. Library visit, too.

My eldest daughter had me over tacos--first time since they returned from living in Honduras I was invited for supper (6 months). Honduran tacos are different than Mexican or American.

I also babysat my youngest grandson (age 3) a couple of times--all day. Whew!

One more week in Indiana. Then I'm off to Florida for two weeks. I need the getaway.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

We have finally gotten some real winter temps for the next few days. Hopefully when it warms up again we don't get enough snow to interfere with going to Prince George for my hip replacement.

Just realized today is Groundhog Day, previously known as Candlemas Day--"Half the wood, half the hay".

It's sunny here in Indiana, so you know what that means(?). Actually, absolutely nothing! True or not, I'll be spending 2 weeks in Florida (beginning two weeks from today). So I think I can survive 6 more weeks of winter.

Stay warm, you all.

You need a blower under those circumstances, methinks. You could borrow ours, since its sitting idle with the neighbours doing the blowing here.....hahahaha......

More snow, more cold, more wind. I hate winter.

I have a 200 foot (feet?) long driveway, and it gets drifted. It's a chore to shovel my way out. Since this happens only once or twice a winter, I've never thought it was worth getting a snow blower or big tractor. Besides, a neighbor (a fourth of a mile away) has come down before to "plow" me out. But, he moved away two years ago! Nobody has volunteered to take his place.

Oh well, I'm not going anywhere. I'll just wait til spring. More coffee, thank you very much.

Even better when the neighbours do all the shoveling.
